Beaver, Geary, & Packer Hall Residents Encouraged To Get Tested For COVID-19

Penn State is encouraging all residents of Beaver, Geary, and Packer halls to get tested for COVID-19 following “several” positive cases in the area, the university announced Monday.

Students who live in those specific residence halls should go to the walk-up testing at Pegula Ice Arena on Monday, March 22, or Tuesday, March 23.

Asymptomatic walk-up testing is available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday at Pegula and the Hintz Family Alumni Center. Students experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 must schedule an appointment through University Health Services.

Beaver Hall is located in Pollock halls, while Geary and Packer halls are located in East Halls.

It’s unclear at this time how many positive results were found in these halls. From March 12 and 19, Penn State reported 254 new COVID-19 cases among University Park students and employees — easily its largest single-week spike since mid-November.

Last week, Penn State encouraged students living in Hastings and Stone halls and Earle and Martin halls to get tested, too.
