Penn State To Virtually Welcome Class Of 2025 March 25
As decision day for incoming students inches closer and closer, Penn State plans to welcome accepted and new students to Happy Valley.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, “Class of 2025: A Virtual Welcome to the Penn State Community” will be hosted virtually yet again on Thursday, March 25 at 4 p.m., the university announced last week.
“We are very excited to welcome the class of 2025 into the Penn State community,” President Eric Barron said in a release. “Ours is a global community committed to excellence, and we will be here to support you today, tomorrow, and beyond.”
The event will feature a Q&A session with Barron alongside current students, faculty, and administrators to provide insight into the planned return to in-person teaching this fall, opportunities that Penn State offers, and what it’s like to be a Penn Stater.
Other speakers at the event include:
- Damon Sims, the vice president for Student Affairs
- Jackie Edmondson, the chancellor at Penn State Greater Allegheny
- Clarence Lang, the Susan Welch Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and professor of African American studies
- Scarlett Miller, the director of Penn State’s engineering design program and associate professor of engineering design and industrial engineering
Additionally, student government and campus leaders Ninad Mahajan, Erin Boas, and Janiyah Davis will speak.
“The beginning of the college journey is truly an extraordinary time, and there is a great deal to look forward to at Penn State,” Barron said. “As you, our newest cohort of talented students, anticipate your experience here, we want to provide an opportunity to hear directly from other Penn Staters.”
The livestream will be available to anyone interested in watching, from accepted students and their families to prospective students. After the hour-long event, a recording will be saved and available to watch online.
