Penn State Men’s Lacrosse Ranked No. 19 In USILA Coaches Poll

Penn State men’s lacrosse is back to gaining national recognition after a slow start to the season.

The Nittany Lions came in at No. 19 in this week’s USILA Coaches Poll. It’s the first time the Nittany Lions are back in the top 20 of any national polls after falling outside of them last week.

The Nittany Lions were 1-4 entering this past weekend, but upset then-No. 17 ranked Johns Hopkins 11-8 to capture their second win of the season. Mac O’Keefe, Gerard Arceri, and Colby Kneese stepped up big for Penn State during a much-needed victory.

Penn State came into the season as the No. 6 ranked team in the USILA Coaches Poll before losing four of the first five games, three of those losses coming against ranked opposition. Penn State has still been receiving top 20 votes in the Inside Lacrosse poll as well.

The Nittany Lions will try to string one win into two against a stingy No. 3 Maryland squad on Saturday, April 3. The game is slated to start at 1 p.m and will be broadcast on BTN+.
