Devon Still To Join ‘Care Can’t Wait’ Summit Alongside Kamala Harris, Nancy Pelosi

Former Penn State football All-American Devon Still is once again using his platform to advocate for policies far beyond the field of play.

On Saturday, April 10, the Nittany Lion legend will join a star-studded group of panelists in hopes of promoting the “Care Can’t Wait” initiative. The summit will focus on encouraging a future that values caregiving by investing in child care, paid leave, and community-based services for all Americans.

The two-hour conversation-styled event will feature Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo, Vice President Kamala Harris, and Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Additionally, Amy Schumer, Ady Barkan, and Ai-jen Poo will accompany Still as celebrity guests.

At the peak of his NFL career, Still gained notoriety for his role in guiding his daughter, Leah, through her bout with stage-four pediatric cancer. Upon her diagnosis in 2014, Still put his stint with the Cincinnati Bengals on standby to aid Leah’s fight.

Just over a year later, Still announced Leah’s triumph after undergoing a surgery that successfully removed her tumor. Months later, the Still family received the Jimmy V Award at the ESPYs for their incredible display of determination.
