Select Students Can Attend Big Ten Soccer Tournament Games

Well, it looks like Penn State men’s and women’s soccer will get to play in front of student fans this season after all.

It may have taken until the postseason, but the programs will both get at least 20 in-person student fans this weekend. While people have congregated outside of Jeffrey Field to witness the programs play, the official student section, Park Avenue Army, has been granted 20 seats for both Big Ten semifinal matches.

With a limited number of students allowed in, those who submit an RSVP form will be entered into a lottery for the 20 seats for each match. Submissions will be available between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13, in the group’s GroupMe.

“Please only sign up if you are 100% certain you can go and that you are ready to sing, chant, scream, stand, and HAVE FUN,” the statement from Park Avenue Army reads.

The men’s team will be the first to take this field this week on Wednesday when the program faces Michigan at 5 p.m. On Thursday, the women play Iowa, also at 5 p.m. at Jeffrey Field.

To get involved, you can join the Park Avenue Army GroupMe here, where you will receive notice of the form. Of course, if you aren’t selected to attend, you can still line Park Avenue to cheer on both programs.
