Penn State Hoops Reveals 2021-22 Big Ten Opponents

Penn State men’s basketball’s 2021-22 schedule is starting to come together.

The team announced its conference opponents and locations Thursday to bring its upcoming schedule one step closer toward completion.

The Nittany Lions will play seven teams twice throughout the course of the regular season: Minnesota, Rutgers, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Northwestern. The only team Penn State played twice last season from that group was Ohio State.

Rounding the home conference schedule are games against Michigan, Nebraska, and Purdue. Matchups against Wisconsin, Illinois, and Maryland will cap off the team’s road slate, culminating in 20 total conference games for the Nittany Lions.

Dates, network assignments, and tip times for Big Ten contests will be announced later this year.

Thursday’s news comes on the heels of non-conference scheduling reports, such as a game against St. Francis (NY). It is unclear when an official schedule of opponents, dates, and times will be revealed.
