Penn State Football-Auburn Set For Prime-Time Kickoff

Penn State football’s marquee matchup against Auburn on Saturday, September 18, will kick off from Beaver Stadium at 7:30 p.m. on ABC, the team announced Tuesday morning.

So far, it’s the first official kick time to be revealed for Penn State’s upcoming 2021 season, which also features non-conference clashes with Ball State and Villanova. For months, our staff’s even been debating if the matchup with the Tigers could be White Out-worthy.

Penn State is 1-1 all-time against Auburn, with both matchups coming in bowl games. The Nittany Lions defeated the Tigers 43-14 in the 1996 Outback Bowl but lost the 2003 Capital One Bowl 13-9.

Auburn will be the first SEC team to travel to Beaver Stadium since Alabama did in 2011.

Penn State Athletics hasn’t announced formal plans to sell tickets or host fans, but the department already has a few plans in the works just in case.

The Nittany Lions will begin their season at Wisconsin on September 4 and return home to Beaver Stadium to face Ball State on September 11.
