Penn State Ranked No. 1 College For Networking

Your tour guide wasn’t lying when they said Penn State is a great place to make connections.

According to College Magazine, Penn State is the No. 1 college for networking in the United States, ahead of Virginia Tech and Stanford.

“Penn State constantly offers virtual networking events, career fairs and career coaching opportunities,” College Magazine said. “All of these help students develop essential and transferable skills as well as provide them with professionals to develop meaningful connections.”

College Magazine also referenced Penn State’s 15:1 student-to-faculty ratio and nearly-90% placement rate. Having the world’s largest alumni network probably didn’t hurt, either.

Penn State also received its No. 1 ranking due to the FastStart program, a mentorship initiative for first-year students that focuses on those from under-represented backgrounds.

“Each student in this program pairs up with an alum so that they have someone that can help them start a network, answer questions and support them through their college experience,” the article reads. “Penn State ensures that every student has the opportunity to build the best network that they can while in college.”

Surprisingly, Penn State was the only Big Ten school ranked inside the magazine’s top 10. No. 9 Gettysburg was the lone other Pennsylvania school among the top 10, too.
