Bryce Jordan Center COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic To Close June 14
Following nearly two months of operation, the Bryce Jordan Center’s state-run COVID-19 vaccine clinic will close next week.
The clinic, which is jointly operated by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and Department of Health, will close its doors on Monday, June 14, as the state’s demand for vaccine rollouts seems to wind down.
“This clinic provided both the community, and students and staff at Penn State with the opportunity to get a vaccine in a convenient location,” PEMA Director Randy Padfield said in a statement Monday. “The clinic contributed significantly to our overall vaccination efforts in Pennsylvania.”
Until closing time, though, it’ll operate on an extended schedule with walk-ins available every day. The remaining clinic hours are as follows:
- Tuesday, June 8: noon to 8 p.m.
- Wednesday, June 9: noon to 8 p.m.
- Thursday, June 10: noon to 8 p.m.
- Friday, June 11: noon to 8 p.m.
- Saturday, June 12: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Sunday, June 13: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Monday, June 14: noon to 8 p.m
The Bryce Jordan Center’s clinic offers patients a choice between the single-shot Johnson & Johnson and two-dose Moderna vaccines. Those who choose the latter should receive information for scheduling follow-up appointments.
By Sunday, the Bryce Jordan Center’s clinic had administered 10,046 vaccine doses to patients.
Although the Bryce Jordan Center clinic’s days are numbered, vaccines will still be available at Penn State, albeit on a less frequent basis. University Health Services is set to host a vaccine clinic of its own at the HUB on June 28 and 29, according to Penn State. Appointment scheduling is expected to open on June 9.
