Reintroducing Onward State’s Penn State Football Student Ticket Exchange

If you’ve logged on to Facebook over the past few weeks and months, you’ve probably been bombarded with posts in class groups from students scouring for Penn State football tickets, selling their own, or seeking the best offers.

Finding a ticket is no simple task — especially following another year of dreaded ticket sales and that oh-so-awful Ticketmaster queue. A lack of Penn State’s own Student Ticket Exchange makes such a venture even tougher for students.

This fall, Onward State wants to change that…again. Today, we’re excited to announce we’re relaunching the Onward State Penn State Football Student Ticket Exchange to give students a better way to buy and sell tickets in Beaver Stadium’s student section.

Ticket listings for Penn State football’s seven home games are now available. Our boards work the same way as Facebook posts and GroupMe messages by letting students advertise tickets they’re selling. We differ, though, by offering a single place to aggregate them. Available tickets will be easily visible and accessible to all Penn State students, ensuring Beaver Stadium’s student section remains the best in the nation.

Here’s how it works:

If you’re selling…

  • Go to the Ticket Exchange form to post your ticket
  • Log in with your Penn State email address
  • Select the game you’re selling your ticket for, your price, and how you’d like to be contacted
  • Submit and follow the instructions for how to verify your email
  • Wait to hear from interested buyers
  • Transfer your ticket to your buyer
  • PLEASE notify Onward State when you transfer your ticket so we can remove it to keep our listings up to date

If you’re buying…

  • Go to our listings page to view posted tickets
  • Click the link to either email or text the seller you’re interested in buying from
  • Pay the seller in whatever agreed-upon way (Venmo is convenient, but services like PayPal and Apple Pay are also great options and often recommended for working with strangers in case you need to cancel a purchase. You can’t cancel payments in Venmo.)
  • Enjoy the game (after you add the ticket to your mobile wallet, of course!)

To clarify, no transactions are made through Onward State, and there aren’t any fees, either. This is simply a matching service we hope will make buying and selling tickets easier for students. Onward State takes no responsibility for any interactions between buyers and sellers.

The ultimate success of our ticket exchange depends on how responsibly it’s used. So please, if you use Onward State’s exchange, do the right thing and pull through on your purchases or sales. Do the even better thing and let us know so we can take yours down and keep our listings up to date.

Hopefully, if all goes well, our exchange will simplify one of the most unnecessarily complicated parts of the Penn State experience. Cheering on the Nittany Lions shouldn’t be a challenge!

If you’re at all interested, give it a try and browse our listings. Heck, you might be a few clicks away from witnessing an unbelievable game or bringing in some extra dough.
