Penn State Football Freshmen ‘Set The Standard’ On First Day Of Class
If a Penn State football freshman goes to class and doesn’t tweet it at James Franklin, did it really happen?
As always, the Nittany Lions’ charismatic head football coach gleefully watched as his youngest players ventured to class for the first time and sat smack-dab in the front of the room to “set the standard,” as he often says. Sending a picture to Franklin is essentially their first assignment of the semester.
Naturally, though, not everyone can set such a strong standard, but a few Nittany Lions easily stood out. Here are our favorite first-day-of-class tweets from Penn State’s freshest faces.
Kalen King
True freshman Kalen King easily stood out on our Twitter feeds Monday morning. An iPad and a notebook? This guy’s ready for anything.
Sander Sahaydak
Sahaydak, Penn State’s kicker of the future, showed up bright and early to his lecture Monday morning. He earned official Onward State Bonus Points for bravely sitting near whatever monstrosity is hiding under that slightly askew wastebin.
Christian Veilleux
Everyone knows conquering your fears is the first step toward improving your public speaking, and Christian Veilleux did just that by sitting front and center in CAS 100 Monday. Perhaps he’ll pick up skills to lead some great pregame huddles when he’s marching the Nittany Lions onto the field in a few years.
Jeffrey Davis Jr.
It might look subtle, but Davis is exemplifying a masterclass in classroom comfort here. By sitting with no one in front of him, the defensive back has enough room to comfortably stretch his legs and unwind while sitting through an undoubtedly boring syllabus read-over. Impeccable technique, Jeffrey.
Gabe Nwosu
Excellent technique here from Nwosu. He’s close to the board but comfortably situated just far enough from his professor to avoid any awkward tension. A seat in front of the trash can is undoubtedly clutch, too.
Landon Tengwall
The perfect seat is one that’s balanced. Luckily, Tengwall is right on the money here. He’s found a seat with perfect views of both the projector screen and blackboard. No strained necks or eyes for this guy!
The Video Review Board Guy
Let’s give it up for Aiden Fissel, all right, folks? Penn State football’s beloved video manager learned from Franklin’s mantra and one-upped the Nittany Lions by showing up 15 minutes early to his class. That’s dedication, people.
