Penn State Hoops Releases Full 2021-22 Non-Conference Schedule

Penn State men’s basketball has finally announced its non-conference schedule for the 2021-22 season.

The schedule includes big-time matches against LSU and Miami (FL), as well as a rematch of last year’s thriller against VCU.

The previously reported games that are now confirmed include a season-opener against Youngstown State, plus games against St. Francis Brooklyn, LSU, Wake Forest or Oregon State, Miami (FL), Wagner, and VCU.

New opponents that were announced include UMass, Cornell, Quinnipiac, and Delaware State. Three of those four games will be played in State College.

UMass and Penn State have not played each other since 1991, but the Nittany Lions hold a 13-10 series record against the Minutemen. Cornell will travel back to Happy Valley for the first time since the 2019-20 season when Penn State was ranked No. 20 in the nation. The Nittany Lions won that game 90-59.

When Quinnipiac comes to town in December, it will be the first meeting between the two programs in their shared histories. The Nittany Lions hold a 3-0 series lead against Delaware State.

Penn State’s season will kick off against Youngstown State on November 10.
