Penn State To Host Pregame COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic September 25
Penn State will host a COVID-19 vaccine clinic this weekend to help fans get vaccinated before heading to Beaver Stadium to catch the Nittany Lions take on Villanova.
In conjunction with Centre Volunteers in Medicine (CVIM), Penn State’s clinic will set up shop inside Gate A at the Bryce Jordan Center. From 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 25, fans 12 and older can stop by for a free vaccine.
The clinic will offer shots to those needing their first or second doses. It won’t, however, administer booster shots to eligible patients.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Penn State to offer a convenient vaccine clinic for Penn State football fans,” said Cheryl White, executive director of CVIM. “We will have vaccines by Johnson & Johnson, Moderna and Pfizer, so fans can get a first dose, a second dose or the single dose of Johnson & Johnson. Students, employees, fans and community members are all welcome.”
The drop-in clinic is available only to those attending the game or tailgating since on-site parking and drop-off areas are unavailable due to gameday setups across campus.
Saturday’s clinic will be staffed by volunteers from CVIM, Penn State’s College of Medicine, and the Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing.
If you’re heading over for your shot, you’ll need to wear a mask inside the BJC and bring a photo ID. Those getting their second doses need to bring their vaccine cards, too.
Once your shot’s done, you’ll need to wait around for about 15 minutes to make sure you avoided any adverse reactions. The clinic is expected to end with plenty of time for fans to head to the game, so don’t worry about missing any action.
