Danny Bloyou Goal Lands At No. 2 On SportsCenter’s Top 10 Plays
Penn State men’s soccer defeated No. 22 Rutgers on Tuesday night, and the opening goal went on to make the headlines.
Danny Bloyou’s diving header, which came from a driven cross from Pierre Reedy, landed at No. 2 on ESPN’s nightly countdown of Top 10 Plays. The goal was the first of two en route to a 2-0 decision in Piscataway.
The diving header marks Bloyou’s third goal of the season, and Reedy’s third assist. The front six of Bloyou, Reedy, Liam Butts, Andrew Privett, Seth Kuhn, and Peter Mangione have been firing on all cylinders lately, and now sit atop the Big Ten standings with a 3-0 conference record.
At this point, it is only a matter of time before Penn State return to the United Soccer Coaches Top 25, where the team has been ranked as high as No. 11 this year.
Bloyou, Reedy, and the Nittany Lions return home on Sunday to face rivals Michigan at Jeffrey Field. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. on BTN.
