Alumni invited back to University Park for Homecoming

Penn Staters of all generations are invited to return to University Park for Homecoming Weekend (Oct. 22-23), with the Penn State Alumni Association hosting the ice cream social and Guard the Lion Shrine.

The student-alumni ice cream social is one of the most popular events of the weekend and will be held from 1-3 p.m., Friday, Oct. 22, at the Hintz Family Alumni Center. The ice cream social (https://bit.ly/3mnpWGb) is a free event that all students, alumni, and members of the Penn State community are welcome to attend.

Throughout the social, guests can enjoy performances by students and the Alumni Blue Band. The ice cream social helps welcome alumni back home for the weekend while boosting pride and morale leading up to the Homecoming Parade for Penn Staters of the past and present alike.

The Homecoming Parade will begin at 6 p.m. and feature many Alumni Association affiliate groups.

Following the Homecoming Parade, Penn Staters are invited to attend Guard the Lion Shrine, hosted by the Lion Ambassadors. The event continues the long-standing tradition of alumni and friends guarding the Nittany Lion Shrine the night before the Homecoming game. The event will feature food, music, guest speakers, and more. No registration is required, and alumni and friends are encouraged to head to the Nittany Lion Shrine following the Homecoming Parade.
