Your Best Penn State Football Tailgate Setups

Last week, we asked you to show us your best tailgating digs following a beautiful four-week home game stretch. Boy, did you folks deliver.

From full bars to tailgate lot games, all with ample decorations to show off your Penn State pride, it’s clear that Penn Staters know how to celebrate on game days. Here are some of our favorite reader-submitted spreads:

Ed Pfaeffle

Look at that ambiance! The lights with the fancy rug and large space make for the perfect after-game tailgate to go to. Complete with a bar, this is where we want to be for a classy tailgate.

Jarrad Arnold

Starting early is a must to get a lot this sweet. Up to eight RVs combine to make a giant tailgating square complete with multiple tailgating games and cornhole tournaments.

“Our tailgate brings people from York, Hanover, Hazelton, Pittsburgh, New York, and New Jersey together for seven weekends in Happy Valley,” Arnold said.

Kayleigh Mital

The Palm Beach Motorhome affectionately named “Yellowbird” hasn’t missed a Penn State home game since it was purchased and has been in the tailgate lots for more than 50 years. Yellowbird gives this ‘gate a retro feel and is definitely a great conversation starter to make new tailgating friends.

Nicole Warner

Just look at those snazzy decorations. It’s obvious that anyone that decorates with welcome signs and fresh flowers is serious about the comfort of their tailgate guests.

Paul Anderson

As part of the Nashville Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association, Anderson pulls out all the stops with the giant inflatable helmet and Nittany Lion, perfect for taking game day photos with.

David Noble

Football Tailgating RV Park

Our staff encountered Noble and his tailgate for the Ball State game. After helping out fellow tailgaters, Noble and six to eight other RVs have been teaming up for home games.

Here, stocked cornhole tournaments, grills and crockpots galore, music, drinks, and a wide range of Penn State fans come together to cheer on the Nittany Lions.
