Volunteers Needed For Penn State-Rutgers Military Appreciation Tailgate

Penn State is looking for more volunteers to help host its annual Military Appreciation Tailgate next month when Penn State football faces Rutgers at Beaver Stadium on November 20.

This all-volunteer tailgate will be held at the Bryce Jordan Center for service members, veterans, and their families. It serves as the final event of the week-long tribute to military service members and their families.

Volunteers are responsible for tasks like being a concierge, handing out game tickets, covering food and drinks, bussing and setting tables, and being runners, greeters, and foot traffic directors.

Volunteers will be needed six hours before and two hours after the game’s noon kickoff. This means that volunteers should plan to be at the BJC from about 6 a.m to 2 p.m.

Volunteers can sign up through this Google Form until Friday, October 29. Feel free to email your questions to coordinator John Bartlett.

Through the Seats for Servicemembers program, Penn Staters have already donated more than 7,000 tickets to help members of the military community and their families attend the Rutgers game at no cost.
