Your Guide To Downtown Halloween Bar Events & Specials
Happy Halloween, State College!
After weeks of haunting midterms and terrifying football games, plus being deprived of a normal Halloweekend for almost two years, we finally made it to this glorious holiday. Now, the important part: What’s Halloween without bar specials and costume contests?
Whether you’re putting together a last-minute costume or you’ve been planning this weekend for months, we have the spooky specials just for you.
The Shandygaff
The Gaff’s Halloween party will take place from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Halloween and feature plenty of specials, contests, and prizes. Specials include $5 Adios and Long Island pitchers, $3 24 oz. tallboys, and $3 Captain and Coke doubles and Washington Apple shots.
Captain Morgan will be in attendance along with Natty Light to hand out free drinks and judge the costume contest. The top three winners of the contest will also be winning a chilling cash prize.
Champs Downtown
On Saturday and Sunday night, Champs is hosting special guest DJ Austin James. There will also be a costume contest with prizes that include a 50-inch TV, Champs gift card, merchandise, and LineLeap credit.
Doggie’s Pub
Doggie’s Halloween-themed drink options include “Vampire Blood’ and “The Ghost.” If you want a warmer option for the chilly night, you can order a “boozie” hot chocolate or coffee available in peanut butter, whipped, or caramel flavors.
If you’re looking to catch a movie, “Nightmare on Elm Street” will play on the outdoor big screen at 9 p.m. on Halloween.
The Phyrst
The Phyrst will feature six Halloween specialty drinks — $4 Pumpkin pie shot, $4 alien brain shot, $5 “witch’s brew,” $6 butterbeer, $7 “poison potion,” and $7 “pumpkin patch.”
The Basement
The Basement will host its traditional happy hour specials featuring $2 24oz Big Basement Teas, $3 Green Tea Shots, $4 Vegas Bombs.
A costume contest on Friday and Saturday will feature $1,250 in prizes, while Sunday’s prize is $1,000. Saturday’s will also be Latin Night/Day of The Dead-themed.
Cafe 210 West
Cafe is introducing two Halloween-themed drinks to its menu — “rotten apple” and “bloodsucker.”
