UPUA Approves Free Resume Printing In Final 2021 Meeting
The 16th Assembly of the University Park Undergraduate Association met Wednesday night for its final meeting of the year.
There were no special presentations for today’s meeting, so UPUA President Erin Boas and Vice President Najee Rodriguez gave their final opening remarks for the fall semester. Then, the assembly transitioned into new business.
New Business
The first two pieces of new business were the confirmations of Executive Director of Finance Will Jenkins and Eberly College of Science Representative Vincent Smedile. Both were sworn in as well.
The assembly then moved on to talk about Bill 21-16, which covers free resume printing for Spring Career Days. In this bill, UPUA would cover 8,000 pages of printed paper, totaling $960. This gives students the chance to print out their resumes without worrying about the cost of printing. Bill 21-16 passed unanimously.
The final piece of legislation to be discussed this evening was Resolution 19-16. This resolution was focused on establishing a “Know Your Rights” campaign when it comes to student protesting. The campaign would include hosting a panel on January 18, 2022, to review the rights of student protesters in the State College area. This resolution passed unanimously.
