CATA To Reimburse Uber & Lyft Trips Over Holiday Break

The Centre Area Transportation Authority announced a new program on Friday that will assist riders while it operates on a reduced holiday schedule.

CATABUS and CATAGO! services will not operate fully from Friday, December 24 (Christmas Eve), through Saturday, January 1 (New Year’s Day). Full service is expected to resume on Monday, January 3. Riders who would typically use these services will now have the option to be reimbursed for Uber and Lyft trips taken within the service area between 6 a.m. and 11:30 p.m. on these days. The offer stands on Friday, December 24 (Christmas Eve), or Monday, December 27 through Friday, December 31.

Riders must pre-register by contacting CATA at (814) 238-2282 with the extension 5577 no later than 5 p.m. on Thursday, December 23, to be eligible for the reimbursement.

This year, Penn State is offering a similar program to subsidize Lyft rides. Check out this post for more information.
