Penn State’s Nick Lee Named Big Ten Wrestler Of The Week

Coming off of two wins over top-20 opponents, Nick Lee is now the fourth Nittany Lion to earn a Big Ten Wrestler of the Week honor this season.

This time around, Lee is the co-recipient of the award alongside Iowa’s Alex Marinelli. Penn Staters like Greg Kerkvliet, Max Dean, and Aaron Brooks (twice) have already claimed one of the Big Ten’s weekly honors.

Lee’s recognition came after the 141-pound fifth-year stud beat Ohio State’s No. 20-ranked Dylan D’Emilio with a 13-3 major decision at the Bryce Jordan Center dual on Friday. Two days later, Lee’s 4-1 victory over Nebraska’s No. 8 Chad Red Jr. helped the Nittany Lions win the Big Ten regular-season dual meet title.

Although Penn State has one non-conference dual left on tap, Lee’s regular-season Big Ten career has come to a close. He owns an impressive 35-2 all-time record in regular-season conference duals, including a 21-0 mark over the past three seasons in a Nittany Lions singlet.

Undefeated No. 1 Penn State will wrap up its regular season by hosting Rider on Sunday, February 20. The Nittany Lions will hit the mat starting at 2 p.m.
