THON 2022 Pep Rally Superlatives

Men’s soccer took the gold at this year’s THON pep rally, but there were plenty of other teams who deserve some hype, too. From movie references to celebrity costume cameos, the teams’ performances definitely kept us entertained.

In typical Onward State fashion, we sorted through the many flips, twirls, signs, and wigs to highlight the most iconic performances at the THON 2022 pep rally.

Best Amateur Tricks: Men’s Golf

These guys are pretty flexible for golfers. They were flipping and jumping all over the place! The crowd seemed to enjoy their rather scandalous outfits. No comment.

Most Dapper: Men’s Fencing

The suits and sunnies combo simply does not miss. The boys’ dance moves weren’t too impressive, but they sure did look fresh as hell. Isn’t that what really matters?

Most Nostalgic: Women’s Golf

High School Musical takeover! The Troy, Gabriella, and Sharpay cameos had us feeling all warm and fuzzy inside. Fun Fact: Since we’ve been THONing for 39 hours, we could have watched all three High School Musical movies almost nine times by now.

The “Been There, Done That” Award For Including A “Pitbull” Cameo: Women’s Fencing

Tired of standing? Don’t worry. Pitbull has been there, done that. But seriously, the fencing team’s Mr. Worldwide costume was legendary. A+ for creativity, ladies!

The “One Of Us Should Probably Change” Award For Showing Up In The Same ‘Fit: Women’s Tennis & Women’s Soccer

All the teams wowed the crowd, but where the hell was men’s gymnastics? Disappointing.
