Penn State Hoops To Compete In 2022 Charleston Classic

Although Penn State men’s basketball’s 2022-23 schedule is far from finalized, the Nittany Lions revealed a portion of their upcoming slate on Tuesday.

From November 17 to 20, Penn State will head down to South Carolina to compete in the 2022 Charleston Classic tournament. The eight-team field will also include Charleston, Colorado State, Davidson, Furman, Old Dominion, South Carolina, and Virginia Tech.

The tournament field features some strong competition. Colorado State and Davidson both finished their 2021-22 seasons with more than 20 wins and are currently projected to compete in the NCAA Tournament. Virginia Tech, meanwhile, returns to the Charleston Classic after winning the tournament in 2018.

Penn State last faced Virginia Tech in 2020 when the team earned a 75-55 win over the Hokies. The Nittany Lions haven’t matched up against any other team in the Charleston Classic field since at least 2010.

The Charleston Classic will release its tournament bracket and television destinations over the summer. Tickets aren’t up for grabs yet, but fans can sign up for a pre-sale to secure $25 off of all-tournament tickets.
