Shareef Miller Drafted By New Orleans Breakers In USFL Supplemental Draft

Former Penn State defensive end Shareef Miller is heading to the United States Football League.

On Thursday, the New Orleans Breakers selected Miller No. 28 overall in the fourth round of the league’s supplemental draft. He’s now the second former Penn State star to enter the league following Christian Campbell’s selection to the Tampa Bay Bandits.

Miller was a standout defensive end at Penn State. Across three seasons, he recorded 31.5 tackles for a loss, 14.5 sacks, and 100 total tackles for the Nittany Lions.

The Philadelphia Eagles drafted Miller in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He appeared in one game during his rookie year before being released the following summer.

Since then, Miller has bounced around a few teams’ practice squads, including the Carolina Panthers, the Eagles again, the Arizona Cardinals, and the Atlanta Falcons.

Miller will hope to see some playing time for the Breakers, who begin their season on April 17. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. against the Philadelphia Stars.
