Penn State To Launch Next Campus Climate Survey April 4

On Monday, April 4, Penn State’s Student Affairs Office of Research and Assessment will send out its third climate control survey to a group of randomly selected students.
The university-issued survey, released every three years, is used to gauge insight on student experiences and knowledge of resources for sexual assault and harassment on campus. Results of the survey will help the university assess the prevalence of sexual misconduct, the influence of alcohol in these altercations, and the comfort of victims or bystanders to report the incident, to name a few.
Selected students will range from University Park undergraduates, graduates and professionals, and branch campus undergraduates. All students at smaller Commonwealth Campuses will be asked to complete the survey as well. Though answers are anonymous, those who participate in the 15 to 30 minute survey will have their name entered into a raffle to win various gift card prizes.
Changes to the survey have been made using feedback from previous years, 2015 and 2018, and focus on making questions more inclusive to the situations students have faced. This year’s questionnaire will also feature more resources at its start and end.
Results from previous surveys can be found on the Student Affairs website.
Additional information about Penn State’s prevention and response to sexual misconduct can be found on the Title XI website. Questions about the survey can be directed to Adam Christensen here.
