Lupita’s To Open On Beaver Avenue April 9

Mexican food lovers, rejoice!

After a three-month wait, Lupita’s will officially open its third restaurant on Saturday, April 9, in downtown State College. The new restaurant will fill in at 312 W. Beaver Ave. in the former location of John’s Shanghai, a Chinese spot that closed earlier this year.

“Many have inquired and many are anxiously waiting to hear the news…” Lupita’s wrote on Facebook. “It is with great pleasure that we announce the GRAND OPENING of our third Lupita’s restaurant.”

Lupita’s grand opening will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday. From then on, it’ll operate downtown on the following schedule:

  • Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Friday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.
  • Sundays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

“The third location is rather special in itself, and we’re very excited to have it open,” Lupita’s told Onward State. “We hope we can fulfill everyone’s desires with our food and service, all the while meeting everyone’s expectations and more!”

Lupita’s has been serving up Mexican food in Centre County since 2019. Tucked away in a Uni-Mart on W. College Ave., its other State College location serves a wide variety of tostadas, tamales, quesadillas, tacos, and more. Check out our review to see what to expect at Lupita’s new downtown location. It just might give Yallah Taco a run for its money as a fan-favorite late-night option.
