Four-Star Quarterback Marcus Stokes Commits To Penn State Football

It looks like James Franklin has his Class of 2023 quarterback.

Four-star gunslinger Marcus Stokes announced via Twitter Friday afternoon that he’s verbally committed to Penn State football.

“They don’t call it Happy Valley for no reason,” Stokes, who unofficially visited Penn State on Thursday, April 7, said.

The Florida native also had offers from schools like Indiana, Cincinnati, Utah, and Ole Miss. He’s pegged as the No. 10 quarterback in the Class of 2023 by 247Sports and garnered a four-star rating in its composite system.

Stokes threw for more than 2,600 yards in his junior campaign at Nease High School, completing 60% of his passes and adding a team-high 496 rushing yards on the ground, per 247Sports.

The quarterback is listed at 6′ 2″ and 185 pounds and also plays basketball at Nease.

Following the decommitment of four-star athlete Neeo Avery, Stokes is now the ninth player to verbally commit to Penn State’s 2023 class. Blue-chip five-star offensive lineman Alex Birchmeier and offensive tackle Jven Williams currently headline the crew.
