Penn State Football-Minnesota Set For 7:30 P.M.

Penn State football’s October 22 Homecoming showdown with Minnesota is officially set for a prime-time kickoff, according to the Big Ten.

The Nittany Lions also learned the start times of two additional games. Their opening matchup against Purdue will kick off at 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 1, and the home opener against Ohio will be a noon game.

Additionally, Penn State’s September 24 game against Central Michigan will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network. The Nittany Lions’ October 1 date with Northwestern will be on an ESPN network.

The Homecoming matchup with the Golden Gophers will be Penn State’s first game against Minnesota since 2019, when the Nittany Lions had College Football Playoff dreams squashed in Minneapolis. Penn State has a 9-6 edge in the all-time series.

Penn State now has kickoff times set for four games. The team announced Wednesday that its September 17 game in Auburn will begin at 3:30 p.m.
