Penn State Football Opens As Seven-Point Underdog Against Michigan
For the first time this season, Penn State football is an underdog.
The betting line opened for the Nittany Lions’ marquee matchup with No. 5 Michigan seven points in the Wolverines’ favor, according to OddsShark. The over/under is set at 51.5 points.
Penn State is now 3-2 against the spread this year after failing to cover in consecutive weeks against Central Michigan and Northwestern, respectively. Those two games also went under the points total, while the opening three all went over.
The Nittany Lions are just 2-6 against the spread in their last eight games against Michigan and hold a 10-15 all-time record in the series. However, Penn State is also 4-1 against the spread in its last five road games.
The Wolverines hold an undefeated record and are 3-3 against the spread this season and 14-6 against the spread in their last 20 games. The under has hit in six of Michigan’s last seven games and 12 of Penn State’s previous 18.
The top-10 matchup is set to begin at noon on Saturday in Ann Arbor and will be broadcast on FOX for the network’s Big Noon Kickoff.
