Forensic Science Club & Theme Park Engineering Group To Host Annual Haunted House Beginning October 20

Penn State’s Forensic Science Club and the Theme Park Engineering Group (TPEG) are once again collaborating to present their annual haunted house on campus beginning on Thursday, October 20.

The haunted houses are located at the Pine and Spruce Cottages, which are near the Chemistry and Boucke Buildings. Tickets are $4.99 and can be bought at the door. This year’s haunted house is called Stranger State and is inspired by the popular Netflix show “Stranger Things.”

For the first time, the clubs will be holding the event two weeks in a row due to the haunted house’s popularity in recent years. However, students are encouraged to attend both, as the experience won’t be exactly the same each time. Haunted houses will take place on the following schedule:

  • Thursday, October 20 — 8 to 11 p.m.
  • Friday, October 21 — 8 p.m. to midnight (Kids Hour from 8 to 8:30 p.m.)
  • Thursday, October 27 — 8 to 11 p.m.
  • Friday, October 28 — 7 p.m. to midnight

The Forensic Science Club and TPEG are also donating a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales to two charities — the H.E.A.R.T. Foundation and Give Kids the World Village.

The H.E.A.R.T. Foundation aims to provide hope and support to victims of sexual assault by providing therapeutic support, educating both the public and professionals, and lobbying for positive changes in legislature.

Give Kids the World Village is a nonprofit resort located in Florida that welcomes children with critical illnesses and their families to enjoy a vacation where kids can experience the simpler joys of childhood.

Additionally, both clubs have designed a crewneck sweatshirt that’ll be sold for $20 in limited quantities during both weekends. Proceeds from the sale of sweatshirts will go toward both charities and THON.
