Famous Penn Staters We Want To See On Trading Cards

In June, Penn State announced that it had entered an agreement with Fanatics Collectibles and Topps to begin the production of Penn State trading cards. It was an exciting announcement, so we took a crack at designing our own ideas.

That being said, Penn State isn’t only defined by the athletes. There are plenty of notable Penn State figures that we want to see on trading cards, even if they aren’t athletes. Here are some of our picks:

Brad Kraut

Aidan Conrad | Onward State

The “academic weapon” himself deserves a trading card. What better way to motivate yourself than to “kick the sheets” every morning with a limited-edition trading card? Complete with Kraut’s signature slogan, this card would be a must-have collectible.

Bill Donovan

Aidan Conrad | Onward State

Possibly the most joyous soul on campus, HUB legend Bill Donovan constantly lights up students’ days. Even though the HUB can be unbearably busy, his smile and warm energy help to keep energy high, which is why we think he deserves his own trading card.

Neeli Bendapudi

Mikey DeAngelis | Onward State

Of course, Dr. Bendapudi needs her own card! After all, she’s the president of the university. In her short time so far as president, she has made a tremendous impact on the university.

The Willard Preacher

Mikey DeAngelis | Onward State

Certainly one of the most infamous figures at Penn State, the Willard Preacher couldn’t be left out. Whether it’s for his routine outside the Willard Building or his signature red hoodie, there’s no denying his fame.

Katie Feeney

Aidan Conrad | Onward State

Like Kraut, Katie Feeney is a Penn State student who has amassed quite a following on social media. Besides that, she’s heavily involved on campus and has become a campus celebrity, appearing on the field at Beaver Stadium and even on stage at THON. She definitely deserves her own trading card.
