Penn State Men’s Hockey Moves To No. 5 In Latest USCHO Poll

Penn State men’s hockey moved up one spot to No. 5 in the latest USCHO Poll. The move comes after Penn State split its series with Ohio State.

The Nittany Lions hosted the Buckeyes on Friday and Saturday. Penn State edged Ohio State 2-1 in game one, but once again failed to complete the sweep with a 4-3 loss in game two. Penn State has not swept a Big Ten opponent since it opened conference play at Wisconsin in October.

Multiple Big Ten teams, including Ohio State, are also ranked in this week’s poll. Minnesota came in at No. 3, with Michigan at No. 6, Michigan State at No. 12, Ohio State at No. 15, and Notre Dame at No. 19.

The series against Ohio State came after a nine-day break due to Thanksgiving, a season-high thus far. Now, Penn State will travel to South Bend for a series against Notre Dame on Friday and Saturday, with puck drop scheduled for 7 p.m. and 6 p.m., respectively. It is Penn State’s last series until the end of the month.
