Penn State’s 2022 #GivingTuesday Campaign Raises Over $1.25 Million

Penn State’s recent #GivingTuesday event set another record for the eighth year in a row.

The university raised more than $1.25 million through more than 13,170 gifts and 150 campaigns. It was the largest showing to date, as 10,746 alumni, faculty, staff, students, and families participated.

“Worldwide, GivingTuesday asks individuals to support the organizations they value most, and it’s inspiring to see our University community consistently choose to include Penn State in that category,” said O. Richard Bundy III, vice president for development and alumni relations.

Gifts came in from 48 states and 19 countries. Dickinson Law raised the most support, with 97 donors contributing $59,320 to support the Dickinson Law Future Fund. Other top-performing campaigns included the Penn State Blue Band Legacy Fund (236 gifts), the Penn State Alumni Association (223 gifts), and University Libraries Student Wellness Fund (196).

Thirty-five student groups, which is a new record for participating groups, helped raise $120,849 from 1,586 gifts. The Skull & Bones Honor Society had the highest number of contributions, while Penn State Club Crew raised the most support of all student-led efforts.

“Our University thrives and grows because our alumni and friends choose to invest in the Penn State community,” Jenny Daigle Benoit, executive director of annual giving, said. “Every gift made on GivingTuesday is a vote of confidence in what’s possible for our students, and I can’t wait to see what we can accomplish together in the year to come.”
