Penn State Running Back Keyvone Lee Enters Transfer Portal

Penn State running back Keyvone Lee could be on the move.

The rising junior has entered the NCAA transfer portal with two years of eligibility remaining, he announced via Twitter Friday night.

Lee’s entry into the portal hardly comes as a surprise, as the emergence of Nick Singleton and Kaytron Allen has made the Florida native’s future at Penn State quite cloudy. Lee, who began the 2022 season as the starter, was unseated by Singleton and Allen and then battled injury for much of the season.

James Franklin declared Lee “available” for the Rose Bowl prior to the game, though, Lee never ended up appearing in the game. In fact, with the game sealed, Tank Smith earned some late-game reps instead of Lee.

In his three years donning the blue and white, Lee has totaled 1,062 rushing yards and seven total touchdowns (six rushing, one receiving). If Lee were to move on, incoming freshmen London Montgomery and Cameron Wallace would presumably get the opportunity to earn some playing time behind Singleton and Allen next season.
