[Photo Story] Penn State Wrestling Dominates Michigan In Electric BJC Dual
Football school. Basketball school. Wrestling school.
In case you missed it, Penn State wrestling showed up and showed out with a 30-8 win over Michigan in the Bryce Jordan Center on Friday. This marks yet another win for the Nittany Lions, keeping them undefeated for the season.
Onward State was on the sideline to capture the team’s dominant win in front of the sell-out crowd at the BJC.
After warmups, the Nittany Lions were all smiles.
Penn State football head coach James Franklin stopped by to cheer on the Nittany Lions. Franklin’s bald head was glistening just steps away from Cael Sanderson’s.
The Nittany Lions found themselves down 3-0 after the first match, though, that deficit wouldn’t last long.
Ouch. That’s got to hurt.
Intensity heated up at 133 pounds during a win for No. 1 Roman Bravo-Young over No. 12 Dylan Ragusin. It cut Michigan’s lead to 5-3.
Beau Bartlett managed to flip an additional point to Penn State. Pun intended.
The crowd was absolutely electric throughout the duration of the night.
To wrap up the first half, No. 17 Levi Haines handed Penn State another win against No. 10 Will Lewan in a sudden victory. The crowd was on its feet to celebrate the true freshman.
The good ole’ Nittany Lion sat back and watched as the Lionettes stole the show during the intermission.
Talk about defying gravity, folks.
174-pound No. 1 Carter Starocci sent Michigan’s Max Maylor flying through the air shortly before securing a pin, setting the stage for Aaron Brooks, Max Dean, and Greg Kerkvliet to finish the night for Penn State.
Starocci rocked a battle wound during his all-star performance.
The Nittany Lions came out on top after yet another impressive win this season. This was the first of two consecutive Friday night duals. Penn State faces No. 2 Iowa on Friday, January 27, again in the Bryce Jordan Center.
You definitely won’t want to miss it.
