Thai Student Association To Host Thai Cultural Night February 12

Penn State’s Thai Student Association (ThSA) will host its annual Thai Cultural Night from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on February 12 in the HUB’s Heritage Hall. Tickets are $10 for students and $15 for non-students, faculty, and staff members.

The event will feature all sorts of fun events celebrating Thai culture, including traditional plays and performances, games, prizes, and food provided by Jaidee Thai Restaurant from Altoona.

This year’s theme is Thai Retro and will feature the play “Kwan Riam,” which is a Thai version of Romeo and Juliet.

Tanachot Sunday Phitprom is the coordinator for the event. He said this is the most exciting event of the year for the organization.

“Thai Night is very special and exciting to me because I get to see my friends perform and come out of their comfort zones,” Phitprom said. “It’s like a huge get-together where I can see all of my friends, have fun, and share in the culture.”

“Interactive booths will allow guests to learn further about the Thai culture,” Phitprom said. “These activities will include a photo booth, a Muay Thai workshop, an origami folding booth, and much more.”

To purchase tickets, scan the QR code in ThSA’s Instagram post. For more information about the organization and other events, visit its website.
