Nittany Lions In The NFL: Super Bowl Roundup

Miles Sanders and Zech McPhearson represented Penn State on football’s biggest stage on Sunday, the Super Bowl. Both Nittany Lions helped lead the Philadelphia Eagles to their fourth Super Bowl appearance in franchise history.

Despite the Eagles’ three-point loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, the game marked Sanders and McPhearson’s first Super Bowl appearances in their professional careers.

Sanders had a quieter night than usual, recording only seven carries and 16 yards. He also fumbled the ball, but the Eagles retained possession.

Sanders closed out the 2022 season with over 1,200 yards and made his way into the end zone 11 times.

McPhearson didn’t record any stats on Sunday and has played a minimal role for Philadelphia all year. He logged 14 tackles and one sack this season.
