Coolest Student Organization Shirts At THON 2023

THONing with an organization is a great way to meet like-minded people. The long hours, never-ending sing-a-longs, and cold walks to and from shifts are great team-building activities.

But, one of the clearest forms of team unity lies within a group’s uniform. Clubs across the Bryce Jordan Center typically decide to go all-out with savvy shirt designs, and this year was no different.

Let’s take a look at some of our favorite threads from student organizations.

Penn State Fayette

Penn State Fayette’s message, “Explore For A Cure” is tied in with a blast-off theme on the shirt’s front side. The neon colors are also vibrant, adding to the space theme.

Penn State Snowboard Club

The PSSC’s sleek design includes a polar bear with a snowboarder coasting down its back. Its winter touch is perfect for THON’s February timetable. The “Wolfpack” mantra on the back pulls the style together.

Phi Gamma Nu

The business fraternity went for a “Frozen” theme. The snowflakes serve as a motif that carries through both the t-shirts and hoodies. The spin on the “Frozen” quote, “Some people are worth melting for” to “Some people are worth dancing for,” is also quite clever.

Club Cross Country

While Club XC is not the 1980s hip-hop group Run-D.M.C., known for hits including “It’s Tricky” and “Walk This Way”, the wordplay on this shirt is very clever and fits the club’s favorite activity. The colors are also bold and readily visible.

PSU Harrisburg

Keeping up with the musical theme, Penn State Harrisburg’s branch campus shirts match a rock metal aesthetic with bold fonts, bright guitars, and fire.

Phi Epsilon Kappa

These purple numbers match the health and medical fraternity’s theme with a stethoscope and EKG on the back. The lilac color is unique and not seen on many other THON shirts.

PSU Club Ski

Penn State’s Ski Club echoed its snowboarding counterpart with another winter-sports-themed shirt. The organization holds claim to a skiing emblem on the front and a few local slopes on the back.

Alpha Kappa Psi

The group’s Lego theme and corresponding font make the shirt pop among the competition. AKPSI’s bright red color scheme and stacked blocks bring back childhood memories and serve as a well-developed connector to THON’s sole purpose.

Atlas

Atlas elected for a stylized version of THON 2023’s theme, “Foster the Magic.” The bright pink brings out a playful variation, and the book is a solid addition.

Phi Beta Lambda

Closing our list with an edgy western theme, the business fraternity’s design centered around bandanas and cowboy hats. The big hat, cacti, and horseshoe scream “yeehaw!”
