Penn State Softball To Play In Pirate-Spartan Classic March 3

Penn State softball added four more games to its non-conference schedule when the team announced its participation in the Pirate-Spartan Classic in Newport News, Virginia, Thursday morning. This comes on the heels of the cancellation of the Nittany Lions’ season opener at Coastal Carolina due to inclement weather.

The Nittany Lions will play George Washington at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, March 3, followed by a game against Hampton at 3 p.m. The team will then take on Norfolk State at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, and the University of Delaware at noon on Sunday, March 5.

Penn State is 5-0 to start the season, highlighted by dominant pitching performances from ace Bailey Parshall and freshman Paige Maynard. The team aims to keep the winning streak going when it takes on Charlotte and Kent State on Friday, February 24, to kick off the Queen City Classic.
