Penn State Japanese Friendship Association To Hold ‘Matsuri’ Festival April 2

Penn State’s Japanese Friendship Association will host “Matsuri,” a traditional Japanese spring festival, from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 2, on HUB Lawn.

The theme for the festival is traveling through time from the 19th-century shogunate to present-day Japan.

There will be different booths hosting activities from both eras, including shogi, a version of chess, and “Super Smash Bros.” Other booths will have prizes ranging from action figures to plushies.

Several student-run organizations will perform at the end, such as the Asian Classical Music Club, Kendo, K-Pop Music and Dance, Raw Aesthetic Movements (RAM), and the Anime Organization.

Registration is free, and there will also be snacks and catering for all attending.
