The ‘Best Penn State Bars/Restaurants’ Bracket: Crowning A Champion

It has happened, folks.

After five rounds featuring some of the very best bars and restaurants in State College, we have finally crowned a champion. Champs Downtown and Cafe 210 West squared off in the finals, and your winner is…Cafe 210 West!

The popular springtime bar absolutely dominated Champs Downtown, and it wasn’t even close. To our surprise, Cafe garnered 93% of the vote, beating Champs by well over 1,000 votes. We know Cafe 210 West posted about the bracket on its Instagram Story, but we weren’t expecting this much of a blowout. The Cafe stans really showed out for their beloved pitchers.

It wouldn’t be a stretch to say Cafe cruised its way through the tournament. It never really had a close call, as it breezed its way past The Trophy Room, A’s Pub, the Shandygaff, and then The Phyrst leading up to its finals matchup.

Champs Downtown, similarly, had an easy path to the finals, destroying its opponents in the process. It took down Lion’s Den, Chumley’s, Champs N. Atherton, and Doggie’s Pub en route to the national championship. It’s truly baffling that it only earned 7% of the vote in the championship after such a strong run. Anarchy? Nope. Just State College bars and restaurants.

We want to thank you all for voting and taking part in our March Madness bracket. Congratulations to Cafe 210 West!
