UPUA To Host First Annual Sustainability Summit April 13
The University Park Undergraduate Association (UPUA) will host its first annual Sustainability Summit from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 13, in Alumni Hall.
The event is hosted by UPUA in collaboration with the Sustainability Institute at Penn State. Students will have the chance to connect with fellow students, faculty, and sustainability leaders at Penn State to exchange ideas about how to improve sustainability efforts on campus and throughout the community.
Throughout the night, discussions will emphasize sustainability projects and progress on campus. Attendees will be able to network and find ways for their organizations to collaborate to create the best future for Penn State.
UN Youth Ambassador and singer AY Young will highlight the evening as a keynote speaker. On his first tour across the United States, AY began powering his concerts with 100% renewable energy to raise awareness about the importance of sustainability. He has appeared on “The X Factor” and performed with artists Wiz Khalifa and Flo Rida.
Currently, AY Young is working on an album where each song would reflect one of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
AY Young will also hold a pop-up concert at noon on Wednesday, April 12, in HUB 241. The event is free for all attendees and is hosted in collaboration with the Student Programming Association.
