Lady Lions’ Anna Camden Transfers To Richmond

Penn State women’s basketball power forward Anna Camden announced her new landing spot Tuesday night after spending just over a month in the transfer portal. Camden will head south and transfer to Richmond, she announced on Instagram.

She’ll arrive at Richmond with one year of eligibility remaining.

Camden was recruited to Penn State by former Lady Lions head coach Coquese Washington from the Class of 2019 but remained with the Lady Lions through the transition into the Carolyn Kieger era.

In her debut season, Camden registered eight starts through 30 appearances, averaging 4.9 points, two rebounds, and 16.4 minutes per game. The 6’3″ power forward solidified herself as a threat from beyond the arc and recorded 39 triples as a freshman.

The following season, Camden found herself firmly in the starting lineup as a sophomore and remained there for the next two years. Camden averaged a career-high 7.8 points and 4.9 rebounds per game in her second year en route to a 4-14 conference record.

The power forward’s junior season showcased similar stats as the previous year and Camden tallied 6.1 points and 4.9 rebounds per game. In her senior season, though, Camden’s numbers steeply declined and she posted 2.6 points, 1.1 rebounds, and only seven starts.

Camden will depart Happy Valley with the likes of Ivane Tensaie and Taniyah Thompson who transferred to UTEP and Georgia, respectively, following the conclusion of the 2022-23 season.
