HUB Starbucks To Close May 5 To Undergo Summer Renovations

Wake up babe, new Starbucks news just dropped.

The Starbucks located in the HUB will close on Friday, May 5, to undergo renovations this summer that will nearly double its footprint. Construction is expected to be completed in time for the beginning of the fall semester in August.

There will be updated seating, a revamped cold brew station, and an improved “grab-and-go” wall to increase options at night and on weekends. Nitro cold brews will also be available following the renovation.

“We feel that the renovations will greatly improve the customer experience by having a more efficient queuing line, allowing the line to easily flow and avoid disrupting seating areas and walkways in the HUB,” Vince Raco, director of Campus Retail Dining, said in a release.

Additionally, more employees are expected to be hired upon completion of the renovation.

Starbucks products will be available for purchase in the HUB Bookstore and in the Pattee and Paterno Library during the renovation.

In other State College Starbucks news, the South Pugh Street location is expected to open in May, replacing the chain’s South Garner Street location that closed in January.
