Penn State-West Virginia To Kick Off At 7:30 P.M.

Penn State football’s season opener against West Virginia is scheduled for a 7:30 kickoff on Saturday, September 2, at Beaver Stadium, the team announced Saturday. The game will be televised on NBC.

The last time Penn State hosted a season-opening night game was in 2001 when the Nittany Lions lost to Miami. This is also Penn State’s first game broadcast on NBC since 2006, and Beaver Stadium has never hosted a home game broadcast by the network until now.

Penn State holds a 48-9-2 all-time record against West Virginia, and September’s matchup marks the first time the teams have faced off since 1992.

Beaver Stadium most recently hosted a night game last season, when Penn State defeated Minnesota 45-17 in the White Out. Meanwhile, the Nittany Lions opened the 2022 season with an away night game at Purdue, which culminated in a 35-31 victory for the blue and white.
