Penn State Baseball’s Bobby Marsh & Steven Miller Earn All-Big Ten Awards
Penn State baseball’s Bobby Marsh and Steven Miller each earned Big Ten All-Conference Awards for the 2023 regular season, the team announced Tuesday. Marsh was named to the All-Big Ten third team and elected to the All-Big Ten freshman team, while Miller earned the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.
With the third-team selection for Marsh, he becomes just the sixth freshman to make an All-Big Ten list in school history and the first since 2010. He was also unanimously selected for the group. Marsh, a Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, native, spent his first year as a redshirt at Florida Atlantic before transferring home to Penn State.
Marsh had an outstanding first year in Happy Valley and hit .310 with six home runs and 35 RBIs in 44 games. He spent the majority of the season playing as the designated hitter for Penn State but started to get starts in left field toward the tail end of the season.
Miller was named Penn State’s recipient of the Sportsmanship Award. Former head coach Rob Cooper called Miller “one of our most dependable and one of our hardest workers.” In 2023, Miller appeared in a team-high 21 games and logged 48.1 innings pitched, ranking fourth on the team.
Over his five years with the program, Miller appeared in over 60 games for Penn State, tossed 107.1 innings, and finished with a career ERA of 5.37.
