Class Of 2025 Prospect Asher Cunningham Commits To Penn State Wrestling

Cael Sanderson is beginning to build his Class of 2025.

Penn State wrestling picked up its second commit for the Class of 2025 in 145-pound wrestler Asher Cunningham, the commit announced Tuesday via Instagram.

Cunningham, a rising junior at State College Area High School, recorded a 28-7 record his sophomore season and placed first at the district and regional levels at 145 pounds. Further, Cunningham earned a fourth-place finish in the state competition, according to PA-Wrestling.

As a freshman, Cunningham wrestled in the 120-pound class, according to PA-Wrestling, and registered a 35-9 record. He’s seemingly also wrestled in the 152 and 160-pound weight classes throughout his high school career thus far, per PA-Wrestling.

Cunningham will join his father, Casey Cunningham, as a Nittany Lion. Casey Cunningham serves as Sanderson’s head assistant coach and is entering his 15th season on the coaching staff. The head assistant coach also served under Sanderson at Iowa State and completed a successful collegiate career wrestling for Central Michigan, too.

Cunningham will join fellow Class of 2025 commit Dalton Perry in his recruiting class.
