‘I Witnessed History Tonight’: Penn State Fans React To Jalen Pickett & Seth Lundy’s Selections At 2023 NBA Draft

After a historic 2022-23 season from Penn State men’s basketball and closing out impressive collegiate careers, Nittany Lions Jalen Pickett and Seth Lundy heard their names called at the 2023 NBA Draft.

This year marks the first draftee from Happy Valley since 2018 and the first time in program history that two Penn Staters were selected in the same year. Pickett was selected with the No. 32 pick in the second round by the Denver Nuggets, while Lundy will head south to play for the Atlanta Hawks with the No. 46 overall selection.

The duo breathed life into Penn State’s previous two seasons, which include two Big Ten Tournament runs, a 20-plus-win season, a Big Ten Tournament Championship appearance, a March Madness bid, and an NCAA Tournament win.

Plenty of folks took to Twitter to share their thoughts on Pickett and Lundy becoming the first Penn State pair to be selected in the same draft class.

Brilliance is right. Pickett will join Penn State great Calvin Booth, who serves as the franchise’s general manager fresh off its first NBA Championship.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

When Lundy’s name was called, history was officially made as the duo became the first pair of Nittany Lions to head to the NBA in the same draft.

Penn State fans and Atlanta, Paulsboro, and Philadelphia natives alike celebrated Lundy’s selection.
