Penn State Football Offensive Lineman Olu Fashanu Named To Big Ten Preseason Honors List

Football season is right around the corner, folks.

Offensive lineman Olu Fashanu was one of five players from the Big Ten East Division named to the Big Ten preseason honors list Wednesday ahead of Big Ten Media Days at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Fashanu was the lone Penn State honoree and was joined by two Michigan nominations with single nominations from Ohio State and Maryland to round out the Big Ten East.

The western side of the conference saw two honorees from Minnesota, and awardees from Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin, too.

During the 2022 season, Fashanu allowed zero sacks in 281 pass-blocking snaps before suffering a season-ending injury during the Nittany Lions’ matchup against Ohio State.

Prior to his injury, Fashanu announced that he would return to Penn State for the 2023 season despite being touted as a potential early first-round draft pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Penn State football opens its 2023 season against West Virginia at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 2, in Beaver Stadium.
