Three Penn State Women’s Hockey Players Win Weekly CHA Awards

Penn State women’s hockey players Mya Vaslet, Maggie MacEachern, and Stella Retrum captured weekly CHA awards for Penn State women’s hockey, the team announced Monday afternoon.

Vaslet was named the CHA Forward of the Week. The junior tallied a hat trick for three points in Penn State’s series against Lindenwood over the weekend. It was the first of her career and the first for any Nittany Lion this season en route to an 8-2 win over Lindenwood. She now has six points this season.

MacEachern was named the CHA Defensive Player of the Week. She had one goal and two assists over the weekend while also having three blocked shots. She has two goals and four assists for six points this season.

Retrum was named the CHA Rookie of the Week for her goal and assist against the Lady Lions to earn her first-ever collegiate award. She now has two goals and two assists this season.

The Nittany Lions are 5-6-1 overall and 4-0-0 in the CHA. Their next series is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, November 17, at Mercyhurst.
